VBMWR Summer Barbecue

We're doing things a bit differently with the VBMWR Club Barbecue this year.  We've booked the Picnic Pavilion at Kin Beach Park in Vernon for Saturday, June 27th.  Kin Beach Park is located at the north end of Okanagan Lake on Tronson Road.   

This is a great facility with a large grassy area, a very nice pavilion and full service washrooms very close to the pavilion.   We have the pavilion booked for the afternoon and as it is booked by someone else for the morning we suggest you plan to arrive around 12:50-1:00PM.  That should allow some time for the morning group to be out and should open up some parking along Tronson Road.  We will be setting up the cooking area and we plan to start serving somewhere between 1:30 and 2:00 PM.  

We plan to barbecue beef burgers, salmon burgers, and smokies.  We'll be supplementing those with some salads.  (potato, pasta and bean) We've not had much success with Veggie burgers in the past as that seems to be an acquired taste and each person has their favorite so we will not supply those this year.  We will be supplying bottled water.  If you want something else to drink, please feel free to bring it with you.  We will have plastic drinking cups on hand.  We will also supply all paper plates and utensils.  

At our AGM this spring we agreed to implement a nominal charge for the barbecue to help offset the costs.  This is due to overall rising costs for the club.  With that in mind, we're going to try something different this time.   

We usually ask you to let us know you are coming ahead of time so we know how much food to buy.  We don't want to run out and we don't want a whole bunch of leftovers.  This time were going to give you an incentive to plan ahead.  

If you pre-register for the barbecue and pre-pay via e-Transfer, it will only cost you $5.00 per person.  If you are late to tell us you are coming, or you simply show up without telling us, it will cost you $10.00 per person.  You are welcome to bring a guest(s) but the per person cost will apply whether pre-paid or not.  If you haven't pre-paid, when you arrive, please look for a table where Heather will be collecting funds and registering people.  

To pre-register and pre-pay, simply send an e-transfer to "membership@valleybmwriders.com" before midnight on Tuesday, June 23rd.  Be sure include the name or names of attendees in the note on the e-Transfer.
