R1200/1250GS Rear Wheel Balancer Adapter was created by RadioFlyer
The R1200/1250GS bikes have a hollow rear axle and the 62mm bore is larger than the cones on most static wheel balancers.I worked with Glen to come up with a design for a 3D printed adapter so that he could use his wheel balancer on his R1250GS rear wheel. The adapter is in two halves. One half has two 6mm brass threaded inserts and the other is bored for two 6mm bolts and counterbored for the bolt head and washers. The two halves bolt together to sandwich the wheel to hold it securely. There is a 19mm bore through both halves to accept the wheel balancer cones and center the wheel on the balancer. The adapter should work with any of the other 1200/1250 models as well.

Very elegant solution to the problem Mike. I have an adaptor for this purpose for my "Marc Parnes" balancer that is a lot more fiddly to deal with than your solution although it would work for a couple of different bikes. I'm sure yours is a lot less costly too. Well Done!

Hi Tim
I balance the rear wheel on my R1150GS using the "Marc Parnes" balancer. The kit included a larger cone for one side of the wheel that works well. You are welcome to try it if you want.

Thanks Wayne. I may take you up on your offer. Though I just recently changed over tires and balanced, I may borrow your unit and check my work.

Hey Tim:
Just to mention that due to some technical issues with the forum I cannot see your post. Wayne let me know what you said though.
Wayne:
If I recall correctly the Marc Parnes adapter does not use cones and has a bore that is an exact fit on the balancer's rod. If this is the case you and Tim would need to verify that the diameter is the same on his.
