With neither rhyme nor reason, every now and then my bike dies while Shifting Gears.
Hot or Cold; 1-2 or 5-6 and everywhere else in between.
At least once a week while cruising along my bike will just loose power and "Shut Off".
Depressing the Clutch and Pushing the Start Button brings her right back to life in an instant, but still...
It's a pretty weird experience (especially at highway speeds) that never fails to get my (immediate) attention.
Any idea's what might be happening? Anyone?
Tks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel:
I can't say I've heard of this one before. You mentioned it happens when you're shifting gears. Can you tell if it dies when you pull in the clutch or does it die when you toe the shifter? I know it happens pretty fast but the difference might be a clue as to the source of the problem.
It almost sounds as if the motronic unit is getting confused. Poor/dirty connectors? Poor grounds?
Not much help I realize. If I come up with any other ideas, I'll post them up. Good luck.
Wayne

Seems to be that this problem is related to either the Side Kickstand Switch, or the Gearbox Gear Indicator Switch, or both?
Now all I need to do is find the Courage (?) to start pulling switches wires and other thing-a-maginers apart...

Usually is the kickstand switch, you can remove it and bypass to make sure.
