THURSDAY, AUG 4TH - High Five Diner in Little Fort was created by waynecorley
Knowing I was heading to Terrace earlier this month, Heather recommended the High Five Diner in Little Fort as a great place to stop. She also recommended the pie. I did stop in on my way north and I can confirm that the bumbleberry pie is awesome.
So, were going to make a pilgrimage to the High Five Diner on Thursday, July 28th and we are inviting you to join us. The plan is to meet up at the Village Cheese in Armstrong for a 9:00 AM departure. Our route will include Heywood-Armstrong Road, Salmon River Rd, then Hwy 97 through Falkland. We'll turn off on Duck Range Rd and drop down into Pritchard where we'll cross the bridge over the S. Thompson River. We'll then take the Kamloops-Shuswap Rd to Hwy 5 followed by a quick scoot up to Little Fort.
For those from the Kamloops area, we expect to arrive at Little Fort around 11:30-12:00 and we would love it if you would join us. We haven't made any prior arrangements with the diner so if there are a bunch of us, lunch may be slow as the diner isn't very big. At any rate with nice weather it will be a good ride.
If the McLure Ferry is operating we may opt to cross on the way back and take Westsyde Rd back to Kamloops. Let us know if you are interested in joining us.
Cheers, Wayne

Good to have you along Rick. We can pick a spot in Falkland to meet up. I would guess that Falkland is a bit less than an hour from Armstrong.

Hi, I would think it's about 1/2 hour or so, perhaps we could meet at the Petro Canada at the east end of Falkland at whatever time you think you would be there.

Hi folks.
We were looking the weather forecast for Kamloops and Thursday, June 28th is forecast to be a high of 39C . We've decided that discretion is the better part of valor so we've rescheduled the ride for THURSDAY, AUGUST 4th in hopes that the temperature will moderate a bit by then. The High Five Diner will still be there and hopefully they will still have some pie. Hopefully this post will go to all who were planning to go.
Cheers, Wayne

Hi all:
For everyone following this potential ride, we're now looking at a forecast on Thursday Aug 4th for just about the only rainy day this summer. We also know this forecast can change twice between now and then. We're going to discuss this at our Wednesday morning breakfast in Kelowna and have another look at the forecast then. We will either carry on with the ride as is, or potentially delay it one more day until Friday. I'll post the decision after the morning breakfast.
Cheers, Wayne
