Question? Bee Cee Beemer rally in Nakusp was created by brianbrowning
Hi All,
Got word that the Bee Cee Beemers are going to cancel the Nakusp Rally for 2023. Mainly due to it's a lot of work for the few and only 30% of their members attend any ways
Would we as a club be willing to offer help to keep this long standing rally going? Just asking for Opinions.
Brian

A very good question Brian. I personally have never attended the Nakusp Rally. No real reason. However, I know there a number of VBMWR members who attend regularly and might be interested in getting involved to keep it going.
Do you know if the BC Beemers would be interested in keeping it going if they were offered help? I would assume that if the rally were to be revived for next year, they would need to get on that soon.
I'll send a quick note out to our members advising them of this discussion and asking for their input. (Likely tomorrow.)
Cheers, Wayne

Not sure, kind of sounded terminal. I became a member recently just so I got more info etc.
I know that we alway put a group together when ever the MOA rally was close so thought maybe the same thing could happen. Be sad to see it go but then it is a big effort if only 30 % of members show up. It was fairly well attended this year but down from previous. 180-190 people roughly instead of 250??

Perhaps we could take over registration at tHe site, I’m sure this is a headache for the organizers, and we have a lot of members attend. We also have a history of doing registration at the MOA rallies.
Are we big enough to co-host this event? Do they have, or could they provide a manual of what has to be done, with a schedule?
We could see if this is something we have enough members to draw from to assist with this event.
I’ve attended most of these for the past 20 years, it would be a shame to loose it.

Some back ground.
Many years ago Bee Cee Beemers were in the same position.
They asked Valley BMW to help. Three Valley members and two others stepped up and put on the Rally in Enderby. It was a success. But. Although the three Valley Members did all the work. Bee Cee Beemers still wanted all control. The Club (Valley) was asked it they wanted to get involved. There was a resounding NO. Times have changed. But again. I don't think helping is a good option. If Valley BMW was to put it on. It would have to be a Valley function. Having said that, I think we should stay clear of putting on the rally. Unless We got a huge commitment from the membership. IMHO
