I tend to agree, really hard for the old guard to let go and let new blood do things their way. Part of the issue was no one stepped up to be rally chair or any thing else for that matter. I like the idea of helping but not sure our club should take it over. A bunch of hours that would burn a person out quickly. Plus, That would take away from the camp outs and such we already have. Those are more important.

I think Martin and Brians last comments are accurate.
I don't think our club doing another clubs rally is a good idea and I don't think BeeCee Beemers would like that either.
It's been their rally for many decades and they have a right to feel proud of that! I attended my first BMW rally in 1986 which was the BC Beemers rally in Riondel and enjoyed it, but it was THERE rally.
Also, our club has always been a somewhat low key affair and I believe this has allowed it be be successful in it's own right.
There might be some younger members in our club that might feel differently than us "ol' guard" members. If so, now's the time to step forward !!
As Brian has already said, I'd hate to see this erode our clubs existing campouts if our club was to take this on.

Hi folks, another thing to keep in mind is the Horizons Unlimited is having their rally the following weekend (July 13-16, 2023) same place. The HU rally had ~250 riders in 2022, and if riders are needing to choose which rally to go to because of limited vacation time/money/etc...I wonder which one they will pick.

I think that it should be a voluntary work which should not involve our present and future executive unless they are willing, but the club should not be directly involved. I think the liability and all other costs etc. should be carefully checked out before committing. Remember this could be a year long endeavour.

I think that in the ordinary scheme of things Janice and I would have tried to attend this year's rally save for the fact that we were away on our trip in the US. Sorry to hear that it won't be held next year. Reading here I learned of the HU Canada West event in Nakusp and I must say that given a choice I would chose the HU event and am in fact now planning to attend it.

Thanks everyone for your input. OK, I'm going to weigh in one more time on this discussion and I'll give you a bit of personal perspective.
Over a period of 15 years or so, I served as Newsletter Editor, Treasurer, Vice-President, President and Director of the Coast Riders (formerly the Virago Owners Club) in the Lower Mainland. I have been Rally Chair for at least SIX rallies that were hosted by the Coast Riders. Those Rallies all had well over 100 people in attendance and involved meals, accommodations, activities and contests. It is a LOT of work. Rewarding, but a lot of effort nevertheless.
When I moved to Kelowna I got involved with the Valley Riders precisely because this club did not have great massive rallies, riding rules, road captains, etc. I really like our format of No-Host camping weekends where the official organization is minimized and socialization is maximized. This is precisely why I don't really want to get involved in the Nakusp Rally personally. I'm not against attending, I just don't want to organize it.
I just checked the Bee Cee Beemers web site and I can't find any mention of the 2023 Rally. No indication of whether it is happening or not. No indication if they are looking for help. IF the Bee Cee Beemers were to put out a request for volunteers to help run the Rally I would go along with canvasing our members to see if anyone was interested in helping. But I would be against the Valley Riders stepping in to "help" put it on in an official capacity. I would also be against the Valley Riders taking over the event. (For all the reasons I have mentioned above.)
As others have stated the Nakusp Rally belongs to the Bee Cee Beemers. If they choose to take a year off, or never run it again that is their decision in my opinion and I think we should respect it. Others may disagree.
My $.02 worth.
