Vintage BMW Bike Insurance Options?

So, my latest project has been to get the 1970 R75/5 that I acquired a little over two years ago running and road worthy. The fellow I acquired it from in Spokane had parked it probably more than a decade ago without draining the fuel from the carbs. As a result, the carbs were frozen solid when I got the bike. With Gary Sampson’s assistance, I now have the bike running and road worthy, and I have just received my Collector plate for the bike, so I am ready to ride it!

My question for the VBMWR braintrust is what options there are for private insurers for a 50+ year-old bike. I have a Beacon policy on my collector R1100GS, but apparently they do not insure anything over 50 years old. In speaking with my AutoPlan agent, Hagerty and Megson Fitzpatrick also do not insure bikes that old. Surely there must be options out there for non-ICBC coverage! Any insight or leads would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance! Tim
PS. Here’s a picture of my /5!

Hi Tim
Beautiful bike you have there.
I'm not sure about optional insurance on old bikes as I have only carried liability insurance on any of my bikes for quite a while. We have quite a few vintage bikes in the club so someone may have an answer. However, this forum doesn't get as much traffic as I'd like so many of them might not see it.
I'm going to send an email out to all those in the club that I know ride older air heads. I'll ask them to respond on this forum if they have any info.
Just for reference, what does your Beacon policy cost on your R1100GS? My 92 R100RT might be worth insuring if the price is right.
Cheers, Wayne
