202 R1150RT Safety Inspection and 120,000 kms Service at Shail's Motorcycles was created by Daniel
On Saturday, 15 Sept. 2018, I had the very good fortune of being able to book my beloved 2002 R1150RT into Shail's Motorcycle's in Langley, BC for the entire day. Finally, my bike would have to chance to be given a thorough, and complete Safety & Mechanical Inspection my one of the VERY BEST in the business.
Although Shail's is not an exclusive BMW Dealer & Service (Boutique) Shop (they also sell & Service Royal & Ural Bikes) he is one of the most experienced BMW Technicians in BC, and came highly recommended by a Long Term Customer who has been dealing with him since he was with BMW in downtown Vancouver in the late 1970's.
Although the cost ($$$) of having the bike in the shop for 7.5 hours, and the several new (after market) bits & pieces that needed replaced was enough to have my wife give me "THAT" look again, the Peace of Mind that comes with knowing that my bike is in 110% Mechanical Condition (Safety First) is Priceless!
Unlike some other shops that I have visited in the past, I was able to chat with the Tech who was doing the work on the bike on several occasions and didn't feel that I had trespassed on 'Hallowed Ground" or reprimanded for attempting to steal "Carefully Guarded State Secrets" when inquiring about a few of the simple tasks that perhaps I could do myself; next time (maybe).
Shail and his staff made me feel right at home, and I will most definitely be returning to their little Non-Boutique Shop for ALL of my future Servicing.
BTW: A stroll through their Showroom of New and Pre-Owned Inventory is alone worth the trip down!

Thanks for the report on Shail's. It's good to know that these independent shops that do good work are still out there. I may have missed it, but did they solve your intermittent problem of the bike shutting off?

No, I did...
My LOW IDLE gave me the hint...
All I did was re-adjust the Throttle Cable a few turns at the Handlebar, and the next thing y'know... No more (Fuel Starved) Stalling
Of course, during the Service Inspection they re-set everything from the Throttle Box (Both Sides) to the Handlebars
Thanks for remembering though
