Todd Trumbore is planning to host a 100 year BMW Rally to be held at his farm located near Harleysville, Pennsylvania. Todd has hosted 4 previous rallies (2015: BMW R90S 40th Anniversary; 2017: BMW R100RS 40th; 2019: BMW R80GS 40th; 2021: BMW Vintage Rally). Todd has invited Hans Muth (designer of R90S, R100RS, and R80GS) Udo Gietl (BMW Motorrad Engineer) and Tom Cutter (BMW Motorrad Mechanic) to the rally.
I was going to attach an email from Robert McIsaac about this rally but the Attachment function does not seem to be working so the following is copied from his January 25, 2023 email message:
The first piece of news is that we won’t be able to host an event in Raleigh in May. That’s actually good news in a way because there are even bigger and better things in store for the year. That includes:
To celebrate 100 years of BMW Motorcycles, Todd Trumbore has again graciously agreed to host an event on his farm in Harleysville, PA. Some of you may recall that he’s hosted a number of events before, including a 40th anniversary for the BMW R100RS in 2017. It is a terrific site and space, with plenty of room to stretch out.
o Hans Muth is planning on joining us at this event.
o In addition, Todd is working to have a number of other very special guests including (fingers crossed) Tom Cutter, Udo Gietl, and Peter Egan. Yes, THAT Peter Egan. The dates for this will be September 21-24, with the most active days being the 22nd and 23rd.
o Harleysville is not far north of Philadelphia, in the beautiful Eastern PA countryside. Ironically, although Todd and I didn’t know each other then, I went to high school two towns away … and can confirm that there is some spectacular riding to be found in this part of the world.
o More details on all of this will be available shortly.
And, to also celebrate the first century of BMW Motorrad, The BMWCCA Foundation Museum in Greer, SC, will be open a very special, yearlong, exhibit on May 20th, 2023. They are promising a wide array of activities and are accumulating an amazing collection of Beemers to grace a facility that is normally given over to Bimmers. The planning on this event is going on even as I type, and both Todd and I have been working with the Foundation Trustees and Museum staff on ideas for the event. Todd was nice enough to even “volunteer” some of his airhead collection for this event. For anyone in The Triangle Region of NC, we may be organizing an event to get there as a group.
So, plenty of great things happening in 2023 to look forward to.
Since you asked to be on this mailing list, I wanted to give you a quick update. I’ll also plan on sharing updates on the events in both Pennsylvania and South Carolina … unless you’d like to be taken off the mailings. Just let me know and I’ll make it so.
Hope that’s helpful. In the meantime, if any questions develop, please let me know. Ride / drive safe.
Best Regards

Here is a link, provided by Robert McIsaac, to a video that was created by Andy Mueller whom attended the 2017 rally hosted by Todd Trumbore for the R100RS 40th Anniversary. Lots of photos of R100RS motorcycles and the rally event site if you are interested in getting a feel for what the rally in Sept 2023 will be like.
