Hi Folks:
Sunday should be a really nice day for a ride and what better road to take than Hwy 6 east of Vernon to Edgewood.  Heather and I are planning to meet in Vernon fairly early on Sunday morning and ride out Highway 6 to Edgewood and back.  We plan to stop for a refreshment of some sort at the General Store in Edgewood, then possibly stop for a quesadilla at the Blue Ox Pub in Lumby on the way home.
Once we have decided on a meet time and where to meet, we'll post that up.  In the meantime if anyone is interested in joining us for the day, you would be more than welcome.
Cheers, Wayne

Well, a slight change of plans.  Something has come up and we won't be meeting at Tims at 9.

We haven't heard if anyone else is going to join us but we are still planning to ride tomorrow.  We won't likely be meeting until around noon.
If you want to join us for the ride, give me a call at 250-863-0710 and we can set a time and place to meet.

Cheers, Wayne

Well the day didn't go as originally planned.  Due to some morning complications we didn't meet until 1:00 in Lumby. Glen, Carrie and Emery met up with Heather and I at the Esso/Tim Horton's.  This was the perfect size group for a ride like this.  From there we had a great ride out to Edgewood on Hwy 6.  Aside from working our way through a few slow vacationers, it was a great ride.  The weather was perfect with the temp dipping down to around 23C at the top of Monashee pass then warming up to 30C in Edgewood.  We paid an obligatory visit to the Edgewood General Store where we picked up a few snacks.

We then went down to the boat launch/campground on Arrow Lake where we partook in said refreshments.

It was really the ride back on Highway 6 that made the day.  It was brilliant.  We managed to avoid any of the ferry traffic and had the road to ourselves as we ripped our way back to Lumby.  Somewhere along the way we picked up a sixth rider who tucked in behind and stayed with us all the way.  It was one of those rides where everything comes together.  It was awesome to check the mirror in a fast sweeper and see 4 (or 5) bikes in a perfect arc behind.  This was a fun and competent group to ride with.

We finished up the day with a meal at the Blue Ox Pub in Lumby.  The Quesadillas are highly recommended

Thanks to all for a great day.  Wayne

Sounds like a great day.. Sadly a tad later this happened www.saobserver.net/news/update-motorcycl...sure-east-of-vernon/

Not sure why you would have a speed wobble unless you really f'd up or were riding a Sidecar !!!!

We got caught up in that after dinner in Lumby as traffic came to a standstill.  We detoured through Coldstream but didn't know what it was about until I read about it on Castanet this morning.

I wondered about the speed wobble too.  According to the story on Castanet the rider may have lost a leg (re-attach?) and both riders involved were in shorts and t-shirts.  Very sad for the rider.    Terrible way to end a nice day riding.
