Folks,
times are changing, so does our website and the forum template.
Here is an updated version of how to change your avatar.
Visit our website, log in and change to the forum.
Open one of the topics, which gives you a menu on top of the forum (see picture 1).
Use the profile button to change to your profile (see picture 2).
When you click on "Edit" on the right hand side, you´ll get the option to make changes to your profile (see picture 3).
Choose the "Avatar"-Tab. If you already uploaded an avatar, please delete the old one first, then upload the new one.
Of course, you can change all  other informations here as well.

Hi Mike:

I tried it and it worked exactly as advertised. The funny thing is that I tried to upload a new avatar without clearing the old on yesterday but my avatar was unchanged at the time. When I logged in today, lo-and-behold, the newer avatar was there.

I have since tried your suggestion of choosing the default avatar first then uploading the new one and that method worked just fine.
